| 内容記述 | The effect of distinctiveness of proper nouns on structural ambiguity resolution or retention in comprehending Japanese sentences with main-clause/relative-clause ambiguity was examined by using self-paced moving-window reading paradigm. The linear mixed-effect model revealed that the processing load of reanalysis（ garden path effect） at the head nouns of relative clause was decreased when the proper nouns were more distinctive. This result suggests that the distinctiveness of proper nouns has an effect on working memory capacity in reading that decides whether the sentence processor can retain more than one interpretation or not. | |||||||||||||
