The hotel was designed in 1923 by Wright as a government guest house, representing Japanese high culture. Endo first discussed the hotel in ‘ An argument of the addition to the Imperial Hotel’ in 1936, he refers to the spatial character as being ‘a real taste of space’. The reason that Endo wrote the argument is considered from the aspect of the addition being done without Wright or Endo. The ‘real taste of space’ is examined with the impression of both Japanese and overseas guests. What Endo as an architect wrote is considered from the aspect of both ‘scale’ and ‘architectural composition’ which he himself named.}, pages = {12--21}, title = {「空間の醍醐味」について ―遠藤新からみた帝国ホテルの空間的特質―}, year = {2014}, yomi = {クロダ, トモコ} }
