We also analyzed what roles and skills they expected of registered dietitians,and further examined relevant factors in implementing home nutrition support. In this study,we conducted a self-administered questionnaire survey among home-care service staff,and obtained the following results: 1)among the respondents,62% recognized home nutrition support and 11% had provided it to their care recipients; 2)compared with home nutrition support,information on nutritional care management,another national public health service to improve the nutritional status of these care recipients,and its financial basis was  significantly(P<0.001)less well-known among the respondents,with 38% thoroughly understanding that the care service was covered by the national nursing-care insurance and only 6% had utilized it for their clients; and 3)a higher percentage(71%)of the respondents were satisfied with home nutrition support,and 82% noted that their  care recipients had dietary and nutritional problems. Furthermore,the survey revealed that,although home-care service staff perceived the needs for professional nutritional support from registered dietitians in home-care settings,their awareness of“nutrition support”was so limited to the controlled diet issues that their expectation of home nutrition support may be quite different from the comprehensive purpose of the program; registered dietitians introduce and support better ways of selecting,preparing,and eating foods even for those who follow energy/nutrient-restricted diets.}, pages = {113--119}, title = {在宅療養者の訪問栄養食事指導の実態とその課題(第 1報) ―在宅医療・介護に関わるスタッフへの質問紙調査結果から―}, volume = {56}, year = {2009} }
