| 内容記述 | This paper reviews sections 2-3 of Shin Kashoki, an ukiyo-zoshi published in 1688 by Ihara Saikaku. The source of this chapter has been regarded as Hojo Godaiki, but new sources clarify that it is two anecdotes of the famous samurai Kimura Shigenari in the early modern period. One anecdote states that Shigenari burned incense of aloeswood and painted his teeth black when he died at the Summer Battle of Osaka. The other, which was told in later years, describes Shigenari?s visit to Tokugawa Ieyasu?s headquarters after the Winter Battle of Osaka. Saikaku created a story using these sources. Furthermore, in the third level of the stratified world, it was revealed that the betrayal involving Hideaki Kobayakawa and the Mikawa Ikko ikki was layered. By developing such topics, Saikaku wrote the right way for the samurai. |
