| 内容記述 | This research examines the distinctive characteristics of the tales of encounters between Narihira and Komachi in Kamo no Chomeiʼs Mumyosho. Among the various lineages of tales featuring Ono no Komachiʼs skull reciting the poem “Aname Aname,” the Mumyosho version presents Narihira as the protagonist who exchanges linked verses with Komachiʼs skull. While this tale originated in Goke Shidai and appears in similar forms in both Mumyosho and Kojidan, previous research has not sufficiently analyzed it as a Narihira legend. In both Mumyosho and Kojidan, the narrative establishes that Narihira attempted to abduct Nijo no Kisaki but was obstructed by her brothers, who cut off his topknot, after which he traveled to Mutsu Province. This setting functions as a tradition, bridging the sixth section of Ise Monogatari with the eastern journey that begins in the seventh section. The citation “Nihongi Shiki” appearing in both works is believed to be derived from associations with the expression “kamiyo no koto” in Ise Monogatari. Regarding the chronological relationship between Mumyosho and Kojidan, this study shows that Mumyosho preserves an earlier form than Kojidan. This conclusion is based on two points: the placement of “Nihongi Shiki” corresponds to the Goke Shidai description, and the toponym “Tamatsukuri no Ono” explains the origin of the personal name “Tamatsukuri Komachi.” | |||||||||||||
