| 内容記述 | This study examines the three-layered narrative structure of volume 5–4 of the Shin Kashōki, illustrating how textual markers, such as the Japanese calendar notation “Daiei 2” and the term harakara (“siblings”), serve to link the narrative to its sources and its compositional framework. The first layer draws on earlier narratives, including accounts of Emperor Heizei and Fujiwara no Kusuko, Tamura no Sōshi, and a tale from the Konjaku Monogatari-shū. The second layer reworks these source materials into a moral tale about a mother and her two daughters, who, as robbers, conspired to kill one another for stolen goods but ultimately repent and take religious vows as nuns. The third layer embeds this moralized narrative within the historical context of power struggles involving Hino Shigeko, Hino Tomiko, and her sister Yoshiko, particularly regarding the succession to the Muromachi shogunate. By clarifying the structural correspondence between the first two chapters and the final two chapters, this study demonstrates how Shin Kashōki integrates classical literary sources with the political realities of its time, thereby creating a narrative that is both historically anchored and intertextually rich. | |||||||||||||
