It was found that while Japanʼs information literacy has a high affinity with school curricula, it is not directly related to lifelong education, employment, and labor. Also, it became clear that while it covers not only the use of information technology but also all problem-solving cognitive activities using information, and thus can be easily related to various learning activities in the subjects due to its high level of abstraction and broad scope. However, there are remaining issues in the consistent development and assurance of basic digital competency as a citizen from the perspective of using information technology. In addition, there are few elements on communication and collaboration using information technology and elements related to citizenship.
