| 内容記述 | This paper examines the three-layered structure of volume 4-4 of the Shin Kashoki. Utsunomiya Yoritsuna is featured in the first layer（ writing material）. He designated his fourth son as his successor and became a priest for saving his family from ruining. Although the eldest son became a priest in the second layer（ main story）, he was unable to devote his life to the vocation. From the perspective of the first layer of Yoritsunaʼs story, the eldest son returned to secular life and played an active role as a military commander. Meanwhile, Imagawa Yoshimoto constitutes the third layer of the multilayered world. Yoshimoto, who entered priesthood when he was a child, eventually returned to secular life and established the Imagawa clan as a powerful general. Ihara Saikaku characterized Yoritsuna as a typical example of ability-based succession to the family estate and positioned Yoshimoto within a multilayered world. | |||||||||||||
