This research is our second report on the present situation of the graduates who qualified as sports trainers of disabled. The purpose of this research is finding the characteristics volunteers. (1) Reasons given for acquiring the qualification include "interest," "schooling," and a "desire to participate in volunteer activity." Helpful experiences given include "schooling" and "volunteering at the disabled persons institution or sporting event." 35.8% of respondents said that they were planning on acquiring a more advanced qualification. (2) The official bulletin of the Japan Sports Association for the Disabled "JSAD SPORTS" was well read among respondents. (3) 50.0% of respondents are active sports instructors. Most are involved in either "sports instruction at the disabled persons institution" or "instruction at a recreation and sports classroom." Motives included "profession," "interest," and for "enjoyment." Future issues include: (1) Advice after sports trainer of disabled qualification acquisition (2) Establishing a system for encouraging and coordinating volunteer activities (3) Guidance after qualification acquisition and the creation of a network. |
