| 内容記述 | People of Japan have often had heavy losses in natural disasters. Therefore, we think that natural disasters are a high risk for us, and we need protection against them to minimize losses. However, many previous studies indicated that perception of risk does not lead to preventive behavior for natural disasters. This study examined the psychological model of earthquake preparedness behaviors. The hypothetical model was based on the theory of planned behavior, which explained the relationship among earthquake preparedness behaviors, behavioral intention, and behavioral willingness. In addition, we presumed that behavioral intention was influenced by injunctive norm, and behavioral willingness was affected by descriptive norm. In a previous study, it was indicated that risk-averse behavior was influenced by two processes: situation-oriented and goal-oriented processes. In this study, we classified precautionary behavior by factor analysis, and examined the hypothetical model with the two processes in term of risk-averse behavior. A questionnaire-based survey was administered to 210 undergraduate students. The study revealed that earthquake preparedness behaviors comprised three factors: preparing for evacuating, information-sharing among family members, and ensuring one?s safety in houses. These behaviors were influenced by behavioral intention and behavioral willingness. However, there were differences in the impact of behavioral intention on precautionary behaviors. |
