| 内容記述 | The field of computer programming education has attracted much attention in Japan. In many countries, computer programming education is now seen as an essential part of the school curriculum form elementary through high school. To meet the increasing demand, schools and companies are offering computer programming. Furthermore, elementary school programming education in Japan will be compulsory in 2020. To meet the growing demand, the author conducted a two-day programming workshop for junior high school students in July 2016 and August 2017. This paper describes the program composition of the workshops and the results. In the first-year workshop, the visual programming language “Scratch” was used and lectures on “computers” and “programmers” were given before and after the Scratch lesson. In the 2nd-year workshop, the lectures were given on three keywords, VR/AR , IoT, AI, which have become hot topics in recent years. After the VR/AR session and the AI session we discussed those topics among the students. For the IoT session, a programming course on the microcontroller board “micro:bit” was implemented. Furthermore, this paper considers prospects of programming workshops for future programming education at elementary school level. | |||||||||||||
